They do not even require any extra base as they can be erected by mounting them to any surface. A cold frame is different from a mini greenhouse in that it is merely a box which has a clear roof and is basically used to protect the plants from harsh weather conditions.

The different types of mini greenhouses available are Lean-to, wooden and polythene. The lean-to variety is so designed that it can be erected against a base. Since throughout the day, the walls can absorb sunlight, they can even help to keep the plants within this greenhouse warmer. If you want a rustic looking greenhouse, then the one made up of wood is the right one for you.
